Hi, I´m Flo!
As a native and repeat resident of Falkertsee, a small mountain village in Carinthia’s Nockberge Mountains at almost 2,000 m above sea level, alpine peaks and pastures have been a fundamental part of Flo’s life for as long as he can remember. After completing tourism college in Bad Hofgastein, he joined the Ski Austria Academy in St. Christoph am Arlberg and went on to attend the University of Innsbruck, where he graduated with a master’s degree in economics in 2012.
Exploring the world’s mountains
Being one of Austria’s first professional freeriders, Flo has traveled the world for more than ten years as an extreme skier and starter of the Freeride World Tour.
He starred in movie clips, took photos and pioneered some first descents. So, be prepared – he has plenty of stories to tell! Flo’s colorful career has included training to become a state-certified ski instructor and ski guide. He also ran a ski school for five years, trained ski instructors, worked as a lift operations manager, trail groomer and caterpillar pilot, and is a snowboarder at heart!
Interests off the slopes
When not skiing or touring the various peaks on his mountain bike, you can find Flo taking care of the Heidi Alm on Falkert, managing the Seehütte hut and looking after the via ferrata to the Falkertspitz summit in summer.
